John, Paul, George and Ringo were even immortalised by Subbuteo |
Rare Subbuteo memorabilia, including an original set of The Beatles with their instruments, is going on display at a new exhibition. The celebration of the table-top football game opens in Kent on Friday.
Enthusiasts will be able to compete against each other, watch a film about Subbuteo as a hobby, or learn about the inventor of the game Peter Adolph.
He first produced it in Langton Green in 1947. The exhibition is in nearby Tunbridge Wells until 4 September.
Mr Adolph initially worked from his mother's house before setting up a Subbuteo factory in Langton Green.
Local residents helped out with painting the football figures and the enterprise was also extended to nearby Wadhurst in East Sussex.
Mr Adolph's story will be told at the exhibition with photos and memorabilia provided by his son.
It ends on 4 September with a tournament for any players aged over 14.
