Snowballs smash windscreen of bus
Throwing snowballs
Police are asking people to be responsible when playing with snow
Snowballs thrown at a moving bus in Kent smashed the windscreen causing more than 1,000 of damage.

Now police are warning children that throwing snowballs containing stones could land them in trouble if they injure somebody or if damage is caused.

"We are not being killjoys and know children enjoy having fun in the snow. What we are saying is - do it safely," said Ch Insp Paul Wilczek.

The bus was in Herne Bay High Street when it was hit. No-one was injured.

The driver said three people threw snowballs at the bus causing the windscreen to break at about 1330 GMT on Wednesday.

As a result the Stagecoach vehicle was taken out of service.

A police spokesman said: "This highlights our call for children to be responsible when playing with the snow."
