Eurostar maintenance workers had voted in favour of strike action

Members of the Rail Maritime and Transport Union have voted nearly 10 to one to accept an improved pay, grading and conditions offer from the firm.

Customer service staff at Waterloo and Ashford stations took strike action in August and engineering staff also voted for industrial action.

The company said it was delighted that an agreement had been reached.

Union members had voted by 176 votes to 27 in favour of industrial action in a ballot in September.

But on Thursday it was announced they had voted by 242 to 25 to accept the new deal.

The maintenance workers and engineers had been in dispute with the cross-Channel rail firm over pay, travel concessions and working arrangements.
