Marco Schiroli died outside the Vineyard pub in Rochester
A man has appeared before magistrates charged with the murder of a man outside a pub in Kent on New Year's Eve.

Paul Melvin John Brown, 37, had been arrested in Spain last month before being extradited to the UK.

He appeared at Chatham Magistrates Court on Thursday accused of killing Marco Schiroli, who was stabbed in a disturbance on 31 December last year.

Mr Schiroli, 29, of Copperfield Road, Rochester, died following the incident outside the Vineyard pub in Maidstone Road, Rochester.

Mr Brown, of no fixed address, was charged on Wednesday night after being flown back to the UK from Spain.

Mr Brown was remanded in custody by magistrates and will appear in court again next week.
