A man wanted in connection with a murder outside a pub in Kent has been arrested on the Costa Del Sol in Spain.
Paul Brown, from Rochester, Kent, was detained by armed detectives at an address in the resort town of Fuengirola late on Thursday.
The 37-year-old is wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of 29-year-old Marco Schiroli.
He died on New Years Eve outside the Vineyard pub in Maidstone Road, Rochester, following a disturbance.
In March, Mr Schiroli's mother made an appeal for information about her son's death on what would have been his 30th birthday.
Mr Schiroli would have been 30 on 5 March |
Mr Brown is due to appear before an investigating judge in Spain this weekend and is then expected to be taken to Madrid where Spain's National Criminal Court handles all extradition cases.
Unless Mr Brown agrees to return to Britain immediately he can expect to remain at a top security prison near Madrid for at least several months ahead of an extradition hearing before a panel of three judges at Spain's top criminal court.
Kent Police had issued a photo of Mr Brown and said he was the only person who had not been traced from the pub on the night Mr Schiroli died.
