Man wanted over New Year murder
Paul Melvin John Brown
Mr Brown has links with Brighton
Police have identified a man they wish to speak to about a murder which took place in Rochester, Kent, on New Year's Eve.

Murder squad officers want to speak to Paul Melvin John Brown, 36, from the Medway Towns about the death of 29-year-old Marco Schiroli.

Two men have already been arrested in connection with the investigation and both were later bailed.

Mr Schiroli died from stab wounds after a disturbance outside the Vineyard Public House in Maidstone Road, Rochester.

Unprovoked attack

A police spokesman said: "It appears that the events leading up to the murder of Marco Schiroli were caused by a simple knock on the window of the Vineyard public house."

"This initiated a violent and unprovoked response which resulted in the death of Mr Schiroli."

Mr Brown has family connections with Brighton, Diss in Norfolk and links with Greenwich in south east London.

Detective Chief Inspector Dean Barnes, the officer in charge of the investigation said: "I would ask Mr Brown or anyone with any information on Mr Brown's whereabouts to come forward."
