Regiment goes on parade in town
The Yorkshire Regiment cap badge
The Yorkshire Regiment soldiers will march to the sound of drums
More than 200 soldiers will march through Beverley to exercise their freedom of the town.

The Yorkshire Regiment was due to march on Friday with their band, bayonets fixed and colours flying.

Council leaders agreed last year to transfer the Freedom from the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire to the new Yorkshire Regiment.

Troops will be inspected by town dignitaries before the handing over of the freedom scroll.

The regiment was formed in June 2006 from an amalgamation of the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, the Prince of Wales's Own Regiment of Yorkshire and the Green Howards.
