The bridge will link the east bank of the river with the city

The Boom will include more than 600 luxury apartments, shops, boutiques, bistros, offices and a 120-bed hotel.

Hull-based developer Pure Urban said the plans had taken three years to prepare in partnership with the local authority and Hull Citybuild.

The project, if approved, would be a major contributor to the regeneration of Hull, the developers have said.

Hull Citybuild, the local regeneration agency, said the scheme fits in with the current city centre masterplan which aims to turn Hull into a vibrant 21st Century European waterfront city.

Chief executive, Adam Wasserman said: "This scheme will create a frame to what is becoming a picturesque riverside, connected to Hull's old town."

Kath Lavery, Hull City Council's regeneration spokeswoman, said it was good to see local developers with commitment to plans for the city's regeneration.

"We all look forward to these plans coming to fruition," she added.

The development, on the River Hull's east bank, would be connected to the city centre by a planned �3m footbridge.

The bridge, currently subject to an international design competition, will form part of a new link from Victoria Dock and the Deep into the Old Town and Museums Quarter.
