Humberside force unveils deputy

David Griffin
David Griffin will support the new chief constable

A 42-year-old officer from the Cheshire Constabulary is the new deputy chief constable of Humberside Police.

David Griffin previously served with the force until 2001 before moving to Cheshire, where he is currently an assistant chief constable.

The Humberside Police Authority said he was the ideal candidate to support new Chief Constable Tim Hollis.

Mr Griffin said he was looking forward to playing his part in rebuilding confidence in the force.

Councillor Graham Stroud, chairman of the police authority, said: "This appointment will put us in a good position to consolidate our recent performance improvements and move forward."
