New trains promise better service
Class 222 Pioneer train
Each train unit has 192 seats
A new fleet of trains costing �24m is to be introduced on the route between Hull and London King's Cross.

On Thursday, travellers at Hull station were given their first glimpse of the new Class 222 Pioneer units which will be operating on the line from June.

Hull Trains has bought four of the Belgium-built Pioneers which have a top speed of 125mph.

The company says the new trains will offer shorter journey times and greater reliability.

Mark Leving, Hull Train's managing director, said: "We are very proud to be launching the Class 222 Pioneers. They are first class train sets in every respect."
