Hull to London fares rise by 6%
Hull Trains
Fares on trains between Hull and London are set to increase in January, rail firm bosses have confirmed.

Hull Trains has decided ticket prices on the direct service will be rising by an average of 6.15%.

The news comes as a fifth direct service between the cities was being introduced on Saturday.

The extra train to London leaves Hull at 10.03am and returning from King's Cross at 4.03pm, offering passengers a "flexible" timetable, the firm said.

The firm said the changes to the timetable will give passengers more choice and flexibility between Yorkshire and the capital.

The trains stop at Brough, Howden, Selby, Doncaster and Grantham on both outward and return journeys.

Hull Trains managing director Mark Leving said: "Passengers can have a lie in on Saturday mornings and still enjoy a full afternoon in London."

The company has confirmed the fare increase will come into force on Tuesday 4 January.

This will see the company's Apex return fares between Hull and London costing 29, an increase of 1.50.
