Snowfall forces school closures
Driving in snow
Some side roads are only passable with care
Heavy snowfall has continued to cause problems across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

On Wednesday, 31 schools closed in North Yorkshire with forecasters warning the North York Moors could be one of the worst-hit areas in the UK.

Leeds Bradford Airport had to close while staff worked to clear the runway.

Racing was cancelled in Doncaster and drivers in East Yorkshire were warned to take care on the roads due to blizzard conditions.

More snow showers are expected with between two to five centimetres likely across the region, especially in hilly areas including the Yorkshire Wolds, the Dales and Pennines.

Highways agencies across the region said they were preparing for another night of gritting main routes.
