Two teenagers had to be airlifted from the base of the cliff |
Two teenagers have been rescued after jumping from a ledge on an 80ft cliff into the sea on the East Coast. Coastguards say a group of teenagers had been having a barbecue and drinking alcohol on the cliff at Filey Brigg.
An RAF helicopter and inshore lifeboat were scrambled, and a 17-year-old girl was taken to Scarborough hospital. A boy was treated at the scene.
Coastguards said the teenagers could easily have been killed and urged people not to jump into the sea.
