Lottery boost for childcare projects

Children will have somewhere to go out of school hours
Hundreds of parents and carers are celebrating after receiving �350,000 of lottery money for childcare projects. .

The initiatives in north east Lincolnshire will offer a mixture of breakfast clubs, after school clubs, and holiday playschemes.

At Woodlands Primary School in Grimsby, the money will be used to provide a holiday scheme for children over eight years old.

It will be run in conjunction with the Grimsby Town Football in the Community initiative.

'Quality childcare'

Matthew Franklin, from the scheme, said: "We are delighted that our bid was successful.

"Parents and carers have been crying out for this holiday playscheme which we can now open in time for the forthcoming summer holidays."

Headteacher Rob Beel added: "This is a fantastic opportunity which enables us to offer high quality childcare."

Other schemes to benefit are The Children's House, Nunsthorpe Early Excellence Centre, St Peter's Children's Centre, Weelsby over-8s club, St Martins's Preparatory School, and Yarborough Community Centre.
