Pipe bursts in Hereford as thaw takes effect

A water main has burst in Hereford, causing traffic delays as Herefordshire and Worcestershire begins to thaw out.

The council said temporary traffic lights were in operation at Aylestone Hill as Welsh Water began repairs on Tuesday.

Roads were passable with care but pavements in villages, market towns and parts of Hereford remained hazardous, Herefordshire Council said.

The Met Office has warned of more snow in the area on Tuesday and Wednesday.
