Severe weather warnings have been issued for Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The Met Office said snowfall of up to 2 to 5cm was expected on Sunday, especially over hills.

Monday's rush hour commuters are being warned to take care on icy stretches of untreated roads and pavements.

The Met Office has also warned there is a 60% chance of snowfall of up to 10cm falling in the counties on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

The Met Office said the combination of wet or snow-covered surfaces, combined with a widespread frost could lead to icy road conditions.

Many sporting events in the two counties were cancelled over the weekend as a result of the weather conditions, including Sunday's meeting at Hereford Racecourse.

More than 240 schools closed in Herefordshire and Worcestershire on Friday following heavy snow.
