A letter by one of the country's favourite classical composers is being auctioned on Wednesday. The letter by Worcestershire composer Sir Edward Elgar was written to his publishers in 1902 and speaks of his ambition to write a funeral march.
It was written just after he had been asked to write incidental music for WB Yeats' play Grania and Diamid.
The letter will be auctioned at Shropshire's Ludlow Racecourse by Mullock Madelyn Auctioneers.
