Queen Mary 2 left Southampton amid a spectacular ceremony

The 150,000-ton vessel set sail from Southampton to Florida amid fireworks on 12 January.

The �550m ship arrived at about 1030 BST and is due to set sail again later.

Her arrival from Lisbon, on the last leg of a trip from Florida, was delayed by three hours after doors which cover a set of propellers failed to shut.

New voyages

Eric Flounders, spokesman for Cunard, said a small number of passengers may experience onward travel delays as a result, but that the firm had amended arrangements on their behalf.

He said: "This is just one of those things; it wasn't a serious mechanical failure but something that had to be dealt with before it went to sea."

The vessel has 1,310 cabins on board

She is due to depart for Guernsey in the Channel Islands later on Easter Monday, marking the beginning of a new season of voyages.

Measuring 1,132ft long (345 metres), the vessel carries 2,620 passengers and 1,253 crew.

She has 1,310 cabins, including four royal suites and six penthouses, 2,000 bathrooms and 3,000 telephones.

On board are five swimming pools, an art gallery and a planetarium. Twenty one lifts will ferry passengers between her 17 decks.

She will eventually take over the Southampton to New York route from the QE2.
