Fire closes cinema and shops
Gunwharf Quays
Gunwharf Quays attracts about 30,000 people on Sundays
A fire at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth has closed some shops and the cinema.

Engineers are working to restore power after the blaze cut some supplies.

The 11-screen cinema will be shut until further notice but some shops in the central square will be trading and the bars and restaurants are still open.

An investigation has begun into the cause of the electrical fire.

A spokeswoman from the development said: "We are investigating how the fire started but obviously our first priority was putting the fire out and getting the repairs underway."

She said the fire began in the car park at about 0400 BST on Sunday.

Gunwharf Quays normally attracts more than 30,000 people on Sundays.
