River oil spill probe continues
Oil covered swan
The oil is believed to have leaked from a nearby housing estate
Work is continuing to find the source of an oil spill that polluted a river and put dozens of swans in danger.

The sewer system around the River Itchen in Southampton is being checked by engineers to find the source of the chemical that leaked into the water.

About 35 swans and ducks were affected by the spill near Cobden Bridge, which was discovered on Saturday.

The spill came just a week after another one in the same area in which two grebes died.

The Environment Agency, which is investigating the source of the pollution, said it believed the oil had leaked into the water from a nearby housing estate.
