A yachtswoman hoping to become the first woman to sail solo non-stop around the world the wrong way is back on course after suffering a setback. Dee Caffari, 32, from Gosport, Hants, has fixed the hydraulics and wiring on her failed autopilot systems.
The former PE teacher's journey was in jeopardy because of the problems which started on Christmas Day.
She hopes to complete the 26,000-mile voyage against the prevailing winds and currents in less than 170 days.
Ms Caffari, who is six weeks into her challenge, is currently near the Falkland Islands battling her way through the treacherous Southern Ocean.
She is facing some of the toughest physical challenges in sailing, including punishing 40ft waves, extremes of temperature and severe lack of sleep.
