Road re-opens for holiday traffic

The A40 in Gloucestershire has been re-opened to cope with the Bank holiday road traffic.

Roadworks on the stretch between Over and Highnam, near Gloucester, have now been suspended until 26 August.

The roadworks are part of a 10m scheme to improve drainage, rebuild the road surface and to improve safety .

A Gloucestershire County Council spokesman said the aim of the re-opening was to improve traffic flow during peak holiday time.
