Police leave trap cars on streets
Cars containing hidden cameras which will record car thieves in action are being parked in crime-hit areas of Cheltenham by police.

Motion-activated cameras have been installed in cars with goods on display in the Whaddon and St Pauls areas.

High-visibility, 3-D signs warning thieves they are now more likely to get caught are on display.

In the last three months, 54 vehicle thefts were reported in Whaddon and three months before, 91 were stolen.

Inspector Stephen Norris said: "A small minority of people are bringing misery to hard working people in the community and this operation will halt this and put those responsible before the courts."
