The former BBC director general Greg Dyke will talk about his time at the corporation at the Cheltenham Festival of Literature in October.

He joins Joan Collins, comedian Dom Joly, and writers including Doris Lessing, Ruth Rendell and PD James.

Artistic director Christopher Cook said it would be a "festival to remember".

Gay rights activist Peter Tatchell, journalist Andrew Marr and the former Labour leader Neil Kinnock will also be speaking at the event.

More than 300 events are planned throughout the 10-day festival, which is now in its 55th year.

And around 60,000 people are expected to visit the town during the event, which runs from 8 to 17 October.
