Dame Judi will speak on Sunday at the Cheltenham racecourse on Shakespeare's work, while Ms Marley speaks at the town's hall on Saturday about her life.

Top authors Margaret Drabble and Brian Aldiss are also attending.

On Saturday, novelist and screenwriter Frederic Raphael will talk about his work on films such as Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

On Sunday, Lady Goldsmith will talk about her upbringing, her life in the 1960s and her family - son Zac, son-in-law Imran, daughter Jemima Khan and late husband Sir James.

The event was launched in 2000 as a sister event to the main Cheltenham Festival, which is held every October.

Dame Judi, 69, is one of Britain's most respected actresses, and has appeared in a string of high-profile films as well as winning plaudits on stage.

Her films have included The Shipping News, Iris, Chocolat and Shakespeare in Love, for which she won the best supporting actress Oscar in 1999.
