Mr Patrick delivers his take-away meal after the brief flight

Shaun Patrick wanted to celebrate completing the restoration of a former RAF Hawker Hunter jet at Kemble.

He had seen a television programme about Southampton-based curry house, Balaka, and mistakenly thought they delivered around the world.

When he was told the maximum delivery was three miles, he arranged to collect the food from the Southampton airport.

Mr Patrick wanted to thank everyone who had helped restore the Hawker Hunter.

"I just thought it would be a good way of rewarding all the crew and engineers who worked on it, to repay them, so we thought we'd fly in an Indian meal.

"I don't think we'd do it again in a hurry but it seemed like a good idea at the time," he said.

The curry house delivered to the airport and the meals were packed in the nose of a Jet Provost and flown back to Kemble.

The cost - �150 for the meals and �10 for delivering to the airport.
