Security has been increased at Bournemouth Airport after a burning car was driven into a terminal at Glasgow. Dorset Police said it had stepped up its presence at the airport but emphasised there was no specific threat known about to the region.
A spokeswoman said the force was taking "proportionate precautionary measures".
Bournemouth Airport remains "fully operational" but passengers to Glasgow were being urged to contact their airline before going to the airport.
Meanwhile, night-time police patrols have also been stepped up across Dorset and local people are being urged to be "vigilant and alert but not alarmed".
"Public safety, minimising risk and public reassurance are the prime concerns of Dorset Police," added the spokeswoman.
Following the attack in Glasgow and the discovery of two car bombs in London on Friday, the government has raised the UK's terrorism threat level to "critical".
