One of the bags which was blown up contained a bottle of port |
Army bomb disposal experts blew up three suspect bags at Bournemouth International Airport - only to find they contained alcohol and toiletries. The airport was evacuated and all flights suspended after a police officer discovered the bags earlier.
Two controlled explosions were carried out but the bags were found to contain nothing more than toiletries and two bottles of alcohol.
Flights are back to normal but with passengers warned to check for delays.
Insp Andy Earley, of Dorset Police, said: "These particular items, we couldn't identify what they were.
"As it subsequently turned out, one of them was a bottle of port, but without unwrapping it we were unable to say that."
