Quarry fall boy's head injury
A 14-year-old cyclist has suffered head injuries after falling into a quarry.

The schoolboy was cycling off Portland in Dorset, when the accident happened about 1400 GMT on Boxing Day.

An ambulance crew was unable to reach him because of the area's rough terrain so a coastguard helicopter lowered a paramedic down to the quarry.

The youngster was then attached to a spinal board before he was winched up and flown to Dorset County Hospital, a Portland Coastguard spokesman said.
