Bournemouth beach has been named the cleanest in the country in a new guidebook of the UK's coastline. Britain's Blue Flag Beaches is the only official guide to the UK's award-winning beaches.
Bournemouth Pier Beach was rated the best in the country - the judges scoring it 99/100 for cleanliness.
In total the guidebook, released on Friday, recommends 133 beaches in the South of England - 11 in Dorset, the Isle of Wight 11 and Hampshire three.

The guide has been produced by ENCAMS, an independent charity which organises the flag awards, and tourism agency Visit Britain.
Chris Saunders, business development manager for the seafront, said: "We are really proud of the results.
"The staff all work very hard along the seven miles of seafront in order to achieve the best standards possible, and we're looking forward to another good summer."
In peak times Bournemouth beaches attract more than 100,000 people a day, according to Bournemouth Leisure and Tourism.
