A house inspired by the TV puppet show Thunderbirds and its Tracy Island base has gone on sale for 4m.

The futuristic house, in Poole, Dorset, has been built by Thunderbirds fan Eddie Mitchell to resemble the home of International Rescue.

Mr Mitchell, a local developer, gained inspiration for the blue glass and blue-fronted property in Branksome Park from the recent Thunderbirds film.

Everything in the hi-tech house is operated by an electronic keypad.

Mr Mitchell said: "We set about designing a property which resembled the house on Tracy Island in the film and also a bird.

"I used to watch Thunderbirds as a child and it was a great programme, very advanced for its time."
