Residents quizzed on turbine plan
Wind turbine
Residents have until 26 October to submit their objections
Residents of a quiet rural community are being asked whether a wind farm should be set up nearby.

A decision over controversial plans for nine 105m-tall turbines at Winterbourne Zelston will be made on 26 October.

Residents have until then to submit written representations to North Dorset District Council if they want to speak at the meeting.

Councillors say the level of interest was such they have allowed much wider public participation than usual.

The planning application from Your Energy Ltd will be discussed at the meeting on Tuesday 26 October at the Blandford School, Milldown Road.

The government has a target of providing 10% of energy from renewable sources by 2010.
