Possible job losses at tools firm

Up to 25 jobs could go at a firm which makes cutting tools in west Devon.

Gleasons, in Plymouth, has started a statutory 30 day consultation on redundancies, the managing director confirmed.

The US-owned company currently employs 115 people at its factory in Estover, and in 2005 workers voted in favour of having union representation.

The firm blamed a lack of demand for tools in Europe and the United States for the proposed job losses.
