Phone mast decision is deferred
A decision on whether to grant planning permission for a controversial phone mast in the middle of a south Devon town has been deferred.

The phone company Three wants to put the mast on top of the old telephone exchange in Kingsbridge.

The 3.5m (11.5ft) flagpole with three antennae would form a base station which the company says is a necessary part of the network infrastructure.

Campaigners against the mast said it was deferred for more consultation.

Planning officers had recommended approval of the mast.
