Anger as flight fails to turn up
Plymouth Airport
The flight was to stop at Cardiff, Newcastle and Aberdeen
Air Wales has apologised after dozens of people were left stranded at Plymouth Airport on Tuesday morning.

About 50 people turned up to catch the 0700 GMT flight, which stops at Cardiff, Newcastle and Aberdeen, but the plane failed to turn up.

Air Wales issued an apology for the disruption which it said was caused by a booking system error.

Air Wales said it will compensate passengers, who were taken by taxi to Cardiff, to catch flights from there.

'Fed up'

Sarah Callard, from Horrabridge, was among the stranded passengers and was travelling with her eight-month-old baby.

"As you can imagine I'm feeling fairly furious," she said.

"We booked a flight because no-one wants to do that arduous journey. I'm really fed up and angry."

Air Wales general manager Peter McKenna said "Air Wales values its customers and takes its customer service extremely seriously.

"We will be revising our booking systems to ensure that this never happens again in the future."
