HMS Cornwall's captain praised the work carried out at Devonport |
The warship HMS Cornwall has been officially accepted back into the Royal Navy Fleet. The formality followed an inspection of work carried out on the Type 22 frigate during an extensive refit at the Devonport naval base in Plymouth.
The ship's company is due to take part in a 128-mile charity run from Plymouth to Falmouth, which will finish with a rededication ceremony on 28 January.
HMS Cornwall is undergoing sea training before returning to full-time duties.
Captain Simon Williams said: "I am absolutely delighted that HMS Cornwall has been accepted back into the Fleet.
"This marks a huge achievement for the ship's company and all the organisations that have contributed to this project."
