A Guernsey student says the decision by Exeter University to shut down several departments is unfair. The university has announced plans to close its music, chemistry and Italian sections.
Helen Simmonds is in her second year of a music and French degree and will be allowed to finish her course.
She is worried about the quality of teaching in a section which is shutting down and is part of a group of students campaigning to save the departments.
Exeter University has decided to make the cuts to try and solve a financial shortfall discovered earlier this year.
A final decision on the fate of the three subjects is expected on Wednesday.
As part of the students' protest, the university was put up for sale on internet auction site eBay.
A mock bid was 10m was put in and the page had received more than 4,000 hits before it was removed last Thursday.
Hundreds of students have also taken part in a protest march against the cuts.
