Scotland funeral for navy officer
HMS Ark Royal
Lt Douglas began her military service on HMS Ark Royal
The funeral has taken place in Scotland of a Royal Navy officer who died on board a warship at Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth.

The body of Deputy Marine Engineer Lt Emma Douglas, 29, from Huntley in Aberdeenshire, was found on HMS Cornwall on 3 October.

She was cremated at Buckie, near Elgin, on Tuesday.

The police say the cause of her death is unlikely to be concluded for a number of weeks.

Originally from Huntley, Aberdeenshire, Lt Douglas graduated from Newcastle University before joining the Royal Navy in 2000.

She first served on HMS Ark Royal as an assistant marine engineer and was serving on HMS Cornwall at the time of her death.

Following the cremation her ashes were scattered in the sea by the Royal Navy.
