A trust fund is to be set up in memory of Jill Farwell (centre) |
Up to 800 people are expected at a memorial service in Devon on Saturday for Jill Farwell, the co-founder of Children's Hospice South West. Mrs Farwell died in September after a long battle against breast cancer.
Little Bridge House in Fremington, north Devon, is the only children's hospice in the region.
It opened in 1995 and was set up by Mrs Farwell and her husband Eddie after two of their three children died from a rare degenerative disease.
Tremendous energy
The couple worked for 15 years to set up, build and support the only children's hospice in the region.
Mr Farwell said: "She had tremendous drive , tremendous passion and tremendous energy and she was able to inspire people to catch the vision.
"I think that, above everything else, will be her abiding legacy."
