A pressure group which campaigns to protect common land says it will fight plans to build a play area in a Dartmoor village. People in Wotter have been calling for a kickabout area for teenagers for three years.
But The Open Spaces Society says the open moorland is too precious.
Now, mother Susan Rabbage says it is not safe for youngsters to play on the open moor and the older children should be given their own area.

People in Wotter, which lies on the southern edge of the moor, have been calling for an area for three years. But Kate Ashbrook from the Open Spaces Society says it should not be built.
She said: "It's proposed to level an area of land which is sloped which would mean cutting a deep trench.
"This is beautiful open moorland and to level it would suburbanise it and will be out of keeping the lovely moorland character of the land."
But Mrs Rabbage says the teenagers need somewhere to go.
She said: "They need somewhere to kick a ball around, the only other place is the road
"They get told off when they go the bus stop because then they are near houses and cars."
A planning application from the parish council is expected to submitted to the Dartmoor National Park Authority soon.
