'Proof of age' training expanded
A proof of age scheme for young people devised in Derbyshire is to be expanded across the East Midlands.

The Are You Old Enough? campaign raises awareness of the consequences of underage sales of cigarettes, alcohol, solvents, fireworks and knives.

A series of workshops were set up for retailers by trading standards teams to give advice to staff.

The scheme will now target shops in Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.

Funded by the Government, stickers, posters, badges and other campaign material have been produced under the scheme.

A film was made and shown to sales assistants to demonstrate the potential and sometimes fatal consequences of an underage sale.

School children will also be shown the film, which will be taken to schools in the region.
