Schools look to 'federation' move
Two schools in North Derbyshire are looking to become the first in the county to pool their resources.

Wirksworth Infant School and Wirksworth Church of England will be governed by one body rather than being merged.

The proposed 'federation' of the schools will mean their budgets can be shared, they will have one head teacher but remain on separate sites.

Parents have six weeks to give their views and, if approved, federation could go ahead in June.

The governors say it will mean children will be able to use the most appropriate classroom in either school and repairs will have more chance of being done with a joint budget.

Both schools will keep their names and number of staff.
