Delay warning ahead of roadworks
M1
New road markings should make the M1 safer in the East Midlands
Overnight work to replace road studs and improve white lining along the M1 in Derbyshire will see motorists delayed overnight for two weeks.

The work will be carried out between Junctions 27 and 28 from Monday with overnight lane closures between 2200 GMT and 0600 GMT on both carriageways.

At least one lane in each direction will be kept open at all times.

John Warner, from the Highways Agency, said: "This is essential work to maintain safety between the junctions."

He added: "To minimise disruption, the work will take place overnight, however road users should allow extra time for their journey."

The 66,500 work will be carried out by Prismo and supervised by AMScott on behalf of the Highways Agency.
