Brian Clough managed both Derby County and Nottingham Forest

The event was moved from Derby Cathedral to Derby County's ground, Pride Park, because of the high demand from fans.

The 69-year-old father-of-three died on 20 September in Derby City General Hospital from stomach cancer.

Clough led Derby County and Nottingham Forest to league titles and twice won the European Cup with Forest.

Fans from the rival clubs mingled during the celebration at Pride Park.

Memorial fund

Mayors, MPs and family members also paid tribute.

Derby County spokesman Damon Parkin said: "It's an honour for the club to be staging this memorial service, but it's not a Derby County event.

"It's an event for all football supporters and those whose lives were touched by Brian."

Clough's favourite songs and hymns made up the order of service.

Fans who attend will also be invited to make donations to the Brian Clough Memorial Fund, recently set up in his memory.
