Hospital struck by bug
Norwalk virus
The virus is highly contagious
An outbreak of a virus similar to the one that affected passengers on the cruise ship Aurora has led to the closure of a ward at a hospital.

The Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Royal Hospital is asking people to stay away if they feel ill.

Six patients at the hospital are suffering from the Norwalk virus.

The illness causes symptoms that last for one or two days and include vomiting and diarrhoea.

Strict hygiene controls are in place within the hospital.

Treatment throughout the rest of the hospital has not been affected by the ward closure.
