Parking charges in south Cumbria could be cut or frozen in a bid to attract more visitors. South Lakeland District Council is proposing the measures for car parks in Kendal, Ulverston, the Lake District, Grange-over-Sands and Kirkby Lonsdale.
Council officers are recommending that some charges be cut by up to 1 as an incentive to visitors to stay, and shop, for longer.
The cabinet will meet on Wednesday to decide whether to accept the proposals.
