Bus passengers step back in time
Leyland Mark 2 single-decker
The Leyland Mark 2 has been lovingly restored
A vintage bus is being used to transport passengers in a Cumbrian town, to make up for a lack of more conventional Boxing Day transport.

With no Stagecoach service operating in the town, Workington Transport Heritage Trust is running a locally-built Leyland Mark 2 single-decker.

The 378 links Seaton with the bus and rail stations, Derwent Howe, Moorclose, Salterbeck, Harrington and Brierydale.

It is the second year running that the free service has operated.

In previous years, it has run on New Year's Day, again with the aim of encouraging people to travel into the town and leave their cars at home.

Normal Stagecoach services will resume on Wednesday.
