Car 'cruise' passes by peacefully
Police say an event which involved hundreds of drivers gathering in a car park in West Cumbria passed off without any trouble.

Cumbria Police said more than 300 vehicles took part in the Cruise West Cumbria Five on Saturday evening.

The event was in a car park at Derwent Howe, in Workington.

Extra police patrols were on duty along with staff from the Vehicle Inspectorate and they said the evening passed without major incident.

Seven drivers were issued with delayed prohibitions for tinted windows and one received an immediate prohibition for a mechanical defect

Nine drivers were given verbal warnings for minor offences.
