Mini bike menace talks in Commons
Mini bike - generic
People cannot ride the bikes in parks and open spaces
The subject of mini motorbikes and those who illegally ride them on the roads will be raised in the House of Commons on Tuesday.

MPs have called for a debate on what is seen as a "growing menace" of the miniature bikes ridden on the streets.

Coventry North West MP Geoffrey Robinson said residents had drawn his attention to the problem.

"These bikes cannot be ridden on parks and open spaces in Coventry. Police will seize bikes if caught," he said.

"Many parents have seen these as excellent presents for their youngsters but they are posing a real problem of not just nuisance but safety," he added.

"There has to be more emphasis placed on traders selling such bikes to warn customers of the legal implications of owning such a bike."
