Ten post offices will shut in Coventry and Rugby within the next few months. Post Office Limited announced in April this year it was considering shutting down 14 branches in the area and blamed poor usage and under-investment.
The announcement comes after a six-week public consultation. Seven branches in Coventry and three in Rugby will close.
Conservative group leader Ken Taylor, who becomes Coventry City Council leader next week, said the closures are a big blow to the community.

"It is very disappointing," he said.
"There are a lot of people out there for who the post office is a community centre and it maybe their only contact on a week-to-week basis."
Decisions on a further four offices are yet to be made.
Local residents had protested when the planned closures were first revealed.
They said it would have a devastating impact on both residents and businesses.
